Fun Fall day

We went to the mountain today to the park. We had a great time. Walker was very tired but he was having too much fun to care.

I am very sad Bama lost this evening. The last two weeks have been tough.

I hope the posting of these pics work. I am doing it differently this time.

Our first night out

Carter's football game was last night instead of tonight. This meant that we had an open Friday night. Well, I decided that we should go out. My parents are keeping Walker overnight and Carter's mom kept Truman while we went to dinner. It was so nice. We went to Carrabbas to eat and it was great.

We walked around the mall a while after and then went to get Truman (who had aparently cried most of the time we were gone). My mother in law is really good about this and didn't complain. He is still awake at 11 pm. I am going to try and get him to bed now.

I am very blessed to be able to go out to a nice dinner with my husband now and then. I really enjoyed myself.

Brilliant Parenting or Dumb Luck?

I am pretty sure it is dumb luck. Walker and Truman had their doctor appointments this afternoon. The appointment was at 3 and I decided that Walker didn't need his nap b/c it would be too hard to get him down and then back up again so I opted for a rest on the couch. He slept in the car on the way to the doc and got about 20 minutes in.

They are both doing great. Walker is 25 lbs (20th %ile) and 34.5 inches (50th %ile) and Truman is 14 lbs 11 oz (off the chart) and 24 inches (90th %ile). Truman has a bit of congestion and we will be taking a stool sample to see if he has been infected with the parasite that the gripe water got recalled for. Walker got one shot and a finger stick. Truman got 3 shots and an oral rotovirus vaccine. Mimi went with us and that was such a help.

After the doctor we went back to Mimi's house. Walker played outside and Truman fussed (what's new?). We had a delicious dinner and left for home a little after 7. It might only be a 10 minute trip but Walker fell asleep on the way and Miracle of Miracles...he stayed that way. I got him in the house and to his room, changed diaper, undressed, put on a sleeper and into the bed. He didn't wake up. Truman screamed the whole time and I got him dressed and ready for bed, fed him, stuck him in his swing and was ready to go a full 12 minutes before 8 and I didn't know what to do with myself. I had a popcicle and waited for Grey's Anatomy to start (and might I say, what an awesome episode). What a Thursday night.

Copeland is Home

Sweet baby Copeland went home to the Lord last night. Please continue to pray for her family, Boothe, Conor and Sellers.

On a higher note, Ashley seems to be getting better.

I will also update you on the boys 2 month and 2 year appointments hopefully later today.

A few prayers, please

Two of the blogs I read, one that I have followed for almost a year now, have little ones in need of prayers. I just wanted to pass them along if anyone out there is reading. Their names are Copeland and Ashley.

Locked in his room

That is where my dear sweet Walker is right now. I put him down for a nap 40 minutes ago. I found him twice out of his room. The second time he was in Truman's room. He had unloaded all of his and Carter's clean clothes from the laundry basket onto the floor as well as all of his and Truman's new clothes from the shopping trip yesterday. So back into his room I took him, and closed the door to. He can't open the knob yet so for all intents and purposes he is locked in there. He is screaming. If he doesn't take a nap. I will go crazy.

On to nicer things. Our shopping trip yesterday went much smoother than expected. Truman was a dream. He slept for most of it and except for a 14 minute crying stint in the car on the way home we were golden. The boys got lots of nice new clothes (Thank you Mom) and I even got a new church outfit and a pair of jeans and new top. Walker got a beautiful new dressy outfit that I would post a picture of, but he wore it to church to day and the nursery workers somehow didn't put his diaper on quite right and it fell off of him as we were walking to the car. Then, my special son, who can normally go two hours between wetting had to go right when we got to the car and the jon jon part will have to be hand washed. It could have been worse, though. He might have pooped, too.

I am really looking forward to tonight. We are going to a friends house for a get together, we haven't done this in over 2 months. I need some good conversation.

I just checked on Walker...HE IS SLEEPING!!!!

11 Hours...Thank you very much

Truman was very nice to me last night and went from 8 pm to 7 am without asking to eat. He also went down without a fight. What a blessing. Walker got to bed at 8 as well and got up at 7, too. Yay for the boys.

Poor Carter on the other hand didn't get home until after 1 am. He had 2 kids go to the hospital last night. One had a concussion and the other broke his femur and had to have surgery. Yikes!

I am mentally preparing to get on the road soon and need to actually physically prepare as well. I just wanted to share my good sleep report.

Truman's first road trip

Tomorrow morning we are off. I need Carter to finish painting the inside of the house...I wanted this done by last Christmas, but we didn't pick colors for the walls until this spring. The back of the house is done (save the hall bath which is a disaster) and he did the living room and dining room in July. It is the den (and all 11 windows), kitchen and playrooms turns. I know he will be able to get the den finished. This is what I am most looking forward to. I will be able to hang pictures. So...off we go.

My mom and I are taking both boys shopping in Birmingham. Oh my, and 1 and a half hour trip down to shop. Truman hates the carseat. Are we crazy? Yes, but we do like to shop and have exhausted the children's boutiques here in the past 2 months. So to the Ham we go.

My saving grace is that we are going to listen to Harry Potter and since I haven't had time to actually read it I am excited.

The Escape Artist

Walker has become somewhat of an escape artist these days. We have found him in the backyard several times in the last few weeks. Today he was playing in the living room and we were in the den.

I thought we were safe because to get out he gets one of his little chairs carries it to the storm door and stands on it so he can reach the latch. He hadn't gone to get a chair so we weren't worried. There were little noises coming from the living room and Carter got up to check...he used Truman's bouncy seat to stand to reach and was out on the front porch with the bouncy in tow. We are going to have to be so careful locking that storm door from now on.

The good news is that all Truman can escape from is a swaddle!

Hello Bloggy World

I must admit that I have tried to start a blog before. I wasn't too committed to it, but I am going to try harder this time. I hope that I will be able to learn to do some of the creative things that I have seen on other blogs and share links and pictures and all the family happenings.

Ok, here we go.
